Patient and helpful
This was my first time taking out a lease on a commercial property, and any lease at all so I was a complete beginner and lacked knowledge on most of the process. The guys in HNF (I spoke with Jay mostly) were really patient and helpful at guiding me through and we have now successfully completed the lease 🙂
HNF Property to the rescue
HNF Property came to our rescue a few years ago when a number of my fellow flat owners and I were trying to buy the freehold of our block of flats in Beckenham. We had been attempting to get our landlord to negotiate a fair price but were getting nowhere. Left with no option but to ask the Leasehold Valuation Tribunal to make a price determination, we needed a valuer experienced in representing clients in that situation. HNF proved to be the team for the job. Their competence and perseverance encouraged us to keep going when our stamina for the fight might otherwise have wained. With their support, we achieved a favourable outcome and were very pleased with the service they provided. More recently they have been generous with their advice and patient in dealing with a number of questions relating to lease extensions. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.
Supervision and organisation
HNF have been our managing agents since 2006. During the past 10 years they have always been available to sort out any problems and to ensure the efficient running of the block. They have organised and supervised the painting of both the exterior and interior of the block, and have guided us to build up a fund to carry out more works in the future at minimal additional cost to the owners. The block is well maintained inside and out thanks to the cleaners and gardeners employed by HNF which helps project the block in a favourable way to new purchasers or tenants. I would recommend HNF to anyone looking for a reliable and reasonably priced managing agent which still maintains a personal touch.
Friendly and helpful
There are some who regard the managing agents of their block of flats as an 'opponent'. Some find their agents to be obstructive and prone to overuse of the word - 'no'. For twenty eight years I found the managing agents of my block to be cheerful, helpful, cooperative, interested, and an ally against the exigencies of life. I like to think they have became friends.
After being let down extremely badly by our last couple of Managing Agents we are very happy with HNF. Our main contact, Theresa, is always extremely helpful and friendly and the contractors HNF have supplied have been up to the mark and reasonably priced. Unlike our previous agents HNF Property have helped us to prioritise effectively on works that need to be done in a block of flats which is showing its age, and, for the first time in years, we have managed to end the year with a surplus of funds. Quite an achievement.
The firm has looked after our property since 1974 and during that time have given excellent service. They have kept us regularly informed of repairs needing doing and then supervised these as well as generally managing tenants etc. We feel fortunate in having such a firm to look after things in our absence.
